Commitment to sustainability In March 2022, Nice Côte d'Azur Convention Bureau has integrated the 2022 GDS index, proof of a commitment for a sustainable transition in activities and the will to increase performances to meet the global sustainable development targets. The city also develops and invests in mobilities in order to reduce the traffic, through the use of tramways, bicycle lanes or pedestrians’ spaces. And last but not least, Nice was crowned the greenest city in France with an impressive score of 75.72%. Wooded areas spread over 50% of the surface area of this majestic city, with 20% of its surface area also covered by areas of herbaceous vegetation.

Nice, an ambassador city for innovation in Europe Nice's efforts in terms of innovation, energy transition, security, connected health and aging well were rewarded at the Lisbon Web Summit (November 2017). Nice has been designated the "Innovation Ambassador City of Europe". Also, at the end of the 18th Cities Conference, held in Paris on 19 September 2018, the 1st Grand Prix des Villes ceremony, organised by BFM Business, awarded the Metropole Nice Côte d'Azur, along with the cities of Lille and Nantes, in the "Smart City and Green Growth" category.

From April to October, luxurious, elegant and comfortable, they offer seaside activities as well as the most refined Mediterranean-style cocktails or dinners - Nice Côte d'Azur's hotel industry is booming with no less than 7 brand new hotels since 2020 (including brands such as Crowne Plaza, IHG Indigo, Okko, B&B, Sheraton). From 2023 to 2025, 5 additional new hotels should open mainly in 4*(including Anantara 5*, Hilton, Maison Albar…). - A Brand new international exhibition and conference centre will come to the west of Nice in the business district. This expansive complex, close to the International Airport Nice Côte d'Azur and the multimodal station (trains, tramways, buses, public rental electric car & bikes), will be a new stage in the development of business tourism in Nice and the Côte d'Azur. - Nice was inscribed on the world heritage list of UNESCO in July 2021 as ‘Winter resort town’ of the Riviera, during the 44th extended session of the world heritage committee.
